Identi.ca acquires Twitter
In a bold but savvy business move, Montreal, QC-based Control Yourself, Inc., creators of Open Source microblogging site Identi.ca, have acquired San Francisco’s Twitter.com for an undisclosed sum. Control Yourself will begin stripping Twitter.com of its two main assets — a cartoonish look-and-feel and a plethora of Weblebrity user accounts — immediately, with other valuable assets to be transferred in the coming days.
